Edo Governor Orders Probe into Veget Market Kidnapping

Edo State Governor Mondai Okpebholo reacted strongly to a kidnapping incident that occurred on Sunday at the Veget Market along Airport Road in Benin City. He described the act as unacceptable and a direct attack on innocent residents.

In a statement issued on Monday through his media aide, Patrick Ebojel, the governor directed the Edo State Police Commission to launch a swift and coordinated investigation into the incident. He warned that the state government would not tolerate any actions capable of threatening public safety and disrupting peace in Edo State.

Okpebholo condemned the kidnapping and called for immediate action from the police to ensure the rescue of the victim and the arrest of those responsible. He urged residents of Benin City and across Edo State to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements to the nearest police station, stressing the importance of community involvement in ongoing security operations.

The governor reaffirmed that the government would not rest until those responsible were apprehended and faced the full weight of the law.
