Edo Governor Okpebholo Condemns Kidnapping in Benin City

On Monday, Edo State Governor Monda Okpebholo condemned a kidnapping incident that reportedly took place on Sunday at Veget Market along Airport Road in Benin City. He described the act as an unacceptable direct attack on innocent residents.

In a statement released by his media aide Patrick Ebojel, Governor Okpebholo directed the Edo State Commissioner of Police to immediately commence a swift and coordinated investigation into the incident, emphasizing the need for security to ensure the safe rescue of the victim and the arrest of those responsible for the attack. He warned that the state government would not tolerate actions that threaten public safety and disturb the peace of the state.

Okpebholo urged residents of Benin City and across Edo State to remain alert and report any suspicious movements to the nearest police station, stressing that the government would support ongoing police operations and would not relent until those responsible are apprehended and face the full weight of the law.
