Gwarzo Challenges Kano Govt Over Corruption Allegations

Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the governorship candidate for the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kano, has publicly challenged the Kano state government regarding allegations of corruption. Gwarzo's spokesperson, Ibrahim Shuaibu, issued a statement on Thursday, asserting that the allegations made by Sunusi Dawakin Tofa, a spokesperson for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, were baseless attempts to damage Gwarzo's reputation.

The allegations suggested that Gwarzo received funds from local government councils. Gwarzo categorically denied these claims, stating they were mere fabrications lacking any credible basis.

He emphasized that the NDC has conducted transparent accounting throughout its years of public service and expressed confidence that the truth would prevail. Gwarzo urged the public to disregard the unfounded allegations, maintaining that his record in public office remains open to scrutiny and that he is committed to principles of accountability and transparency under the rule of law.
