Aminu Gwarzo Selected as Kano NDC Gubernatorial Candidate

Aminu Gwarzo has emerged as the gubernatorial candidate for the Kano State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 elections. This announcement was made by Rabiu Kwankwaso, the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, who emphasized that the decision followed consultations within the party and adhered to principles of equity, fairness, and loyalty.

Gwarzo, a former deputy governor of Kano State, served during Kwankwaso's administration and has a history of political involvement, including a previous role as chairman of the Gwarzo Local Government Area. In addition to Gwarzo's candidacy, it was disclosed that Nasiru Gawuna, the immediate past deputy governor under Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress, will contest for the Kano Central senatorial seat.

Kwankwaso expressed optimism about the party's chances in the upcoming elections, invoking a spirit of unity and fairness within the party.
