NDC Approves Peter Obi and Aspirants for Primaries

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has approved Peter Obi and other presidential aspirants to participate in the primaries after a screening exercise. This decision was announced during a joint meeting involving the party's national working committee and the screening committee, chaired by former Bayelsa Governor Dickson.

He expressed gratitude to the committee for their diligent work over the past week, handling a number of aspirants that exceeded expectations. The party resolved to allow aspirants to purchase expression of interest forms to contest in the primaries, which are set for May 28-29.

Due to time constraints, the party will conduct a manual voting process instead of the planned electronic system. Dickson urged aspirants to avoid violence during the exercise and warned that the party would take serious action against anyone resorting to violence or disorderly conduct.
