Nigerian Air Force Airlifts Materials for Ekiti Election

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) conducted an operation to airlift sensitive electoral materials for the upcoming Ekiti governorship election, scheduled for June 20. This operation took place on June 15 and 16, following a request from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodam stated that the operation aimed to facilitate the secure and timely movement of these materials from Abuja to designated locations across the country. The airlift covered preparations for not only the Ekiti governorship election but also for senatorial elections in various districts, including Enugu North, Nasarawa North, Rivers South East, and others.

The materials were transported from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja to locations in Enugu, Rivers, and Kano states, ensuring delivery to INEC within the stipulated timeline ahead of the elections. Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sundai Anek commended the personnel involved for their professionalism and dedication, reaffirming NAF's commitment to supporting democratic institutions and national development.
