NLC Issues Four-Week Ultimatum to FG Over ASUU Strike

The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has given the federal government a four-week ultimatum to conclude negotiations with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to avert a nationwide industrial action. The NLC President, Ajaero, condemned the government's "no work, no pay" policy imposed on ASUU members.

ASUU had embarked on a two-week warning strike on October 13, citing neglect of their demands, including improved welfare and the implementation of past agreements. The NLC's ultimatum aims to pressure the government to address the issues raised by ASUU to prevent further disruptions in tertiary education.
