FG Confirms No Change to NYSC Uniform Yet

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through Minister Ayodele Olawande, announced that there will be no immediate change to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) uniform to Adire or Ankara fabrics. This clarification was made on Thursday following media reports that misinterpreted Olawande's comments during an appearance on Channels Television.

He emphasized that while the discussion around the uniform is part of ongoing NYSC reforms, the mention of Adire and Ankara was merely to cite examples of proposals under consideration. Olawande urged Nigerians not to let discussions about the uniform overshadow the broader reform objectives aimed at empowering youth and improving service delivery.

He reassured that no final decision has been made regarding the design or fabric of the uniform, and the government is evaluating various options to ensure they meet professional standards and national pride.
