PDP Rejects Tinubu's 2027 Endorsement, Plans Own Candidate

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has officially rejected the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential elections. Daboikiabo Warmat, a chieftain of the PDP, stated in an interview that the party will not support Tinubu's re-election bid and will instead field its own presidential candidate, emphasizing that the presidency should be zoned to the southern region.

This announcement comes amidst a meeting of the PDP's National Executive Committee, led by Chairman Adolphu Wabara, which is taking place at the Bauchi State Governor's lodge in Abuja. The meeting aims to resolve internal disputes within the party, particularly concerning plans for a national convention proposed by Abdulrahman Moham, who leads the caretaker committee.

The PDP leadership remains open to reconciliation efforts with rival factions, indicating a commitment to addressing ongoing crises within the party.
