PDP Faction Names Jonathan as 2027 Presidential Candidate

On Saturday, a faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), led by Tanimu Turaki, officially declared former President Goodluck Jonathan as its presidential candidate for the upcoming 2027 general elections. This decision was made during a special national convention held at the PDP faction's secretariat in Area 10, Garki, Abuja.

Notably, Jonathan was not present at the event where his nomination was formally ratified. The announcement was made on his behalf by Bayelsa lawmaker Fred Agbedi.

The gathering was attended by delegates and stakeholders aligned with the Turaki-led group, with further details expected to be released later.
