PDP Leads in Adamawa Local Government Elections

In the Adamawa State local government elections, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has emerged with an early lead across 18 of the 21 local government areas. However, there was a significant level of voter apathy observed at multiple polling units.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri's recent defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the PDP was highlighted, along with the absence of APC officials during the voting process. The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) confirmed that the accreditation process began smoothly around 8:00 AM.

Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct of the elections, despite low voter turnout partly attributed to heavy rainfall disrupting participation. Criticism arose from ADC chairmanship candidate Denni Kakaba, who alleged irregularities in the election process.

The APC's public secretary Dogo Victor expressed confidence that the party would emerge victorious once the final results are officially computed.
