PDP Secures Chairmanship and Councillorship in Adamawa

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) achieved significant victories in the local government elections held across 21 local government areas in Adamawa State. The results were officially announced by Moham Umar Madagali, the state chairman of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), in Yola on Monday.

The PDP won the chairmanship elections and secured 226 ward councillorship seats throughout the state. Madagali emphasized that the electoral process was conducted in an orderly manner, expressing gratitude to the people for their calmness during the exercise.

He described the elections as a game with both winners and losers. However, there were reports of minor skirmishes in the Numan local government area, where some election materials were reportedly destroyed during protests.

A total of eleven political parties indicated interest in participating, with four, including the PDP, actively contesting in the elections.
