PDP Wins 20 LGAs in Adamawa Council Elections

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) achieved a significant victory in the Adamawa State council elections, securing wins in 20 local government areas (LGAs). The elections were held after a postponement from June 13, with results still pending for the LGA of Numan.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, who defected from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC) a month prior, had previously endorsed the PDP's candidates for the council chairmen positions. Chief Mauric Vunobolki, the PDP's governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections, congratulated the newly elected council chairmen, indicating the party's continued popularity among the electorate.

The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) conducted the elections, which were characterized by political alignments following the governor's defection.
