PDP Dominates Adamawa Elections, Winning All 21 LGAs

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) achieved a significant victory in the Adamawa State elections, winning all 21 local government areas (LGAs) and 226 wards. The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) announced the results on June 19, 2023.

In the Numan local government area, Zidon Nzanyopwa was declared the winner, securing 19,174 votes against 5,676 votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bio Alex. The elections, initially scheduled for June 13, 2023, were postponed from June 10, 2023.

ADSIEC Chairman Moham Umar confirmed the overall results late on June 19, stating that the PDP had won all LGAs and wards, which means the party will have chairmen, vice chairmen, and councillors across all 21 local government councils. The current governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, who defected from the APC to the PDP earlier in the year, endorsed the PDP candidates.
