JUST IN: Peter Obi reacts to Tambuwal detention by EFCC

Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate for the Labour Party, has responded to the detention of former Governor Aminu Tambuwal by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Obi emphasized the importance of transparency in the fight against corruption in Nigeria, stating that all individuals, regardless of their political affiliations, should be subject to the rule of law.

He criticized the apparent contradictions in the country's anti-corruption efforts and called for a sincere and unbiased approach to tackling corruption. Obi stressed the need for EFCC operatives to be guided by conscience and the rule of law, rather than political convenience or power.
