Osun SSG Teslim Igbalaiye Released After Arrest

Teslim Igbalaiye, the Secretary to the Osun State Government, was released by the Osun State Police Command after his arrest on Wednesday over allegations of vote buying and other electoral offences. His release was confirmed on Thursday, ending hours of uncertainty.

Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson for the Imole Campaign Council, which is coordinating the re-election campaign of Governor Ademola Adeleke, announced the release on his verified Facebook page, expressing gratitude to the Inspector General of Police and the Commissioner of Police for their response to public demands regarding Igbalaiye's arrest. The police had conducted a raid on Igbalaiye's residence in Osogbo, leading to his arrest alongside five others, including Oladele Abiodun, who was on the police watchlist.

During the operation, police recovered N4,810,500, two Permanent Voter Cards, a voter register, a laptop, a photocopy machine, and a printer. The police confirmed that investigations into the allegations are ongoing.
