Osun SSG Teslim Igbalaye Arrested Over Voter Fraud

The Osun State Police Command arrested Teslim Igbalaye, the Secretary to the Osun State Government, along with five other suspects during a raid on his residence in Osogbo. The operation, conducted based on intelligence reports about a criminal gang, resulted in the recovery of ₦4,810,500 in cash, two Permanent Voter Cards, a voter register for Wards 1 to 15, a Dynabook laptop, a photocopy machine, and a printer.

The arrested individuals include Oladele Abiodun, who was already on the police watchlist, Akande Taiwo, Adeyemo Lukman, Olaoye Muftau, and Aderemi Musliu. The police expressed concerns regarding possible electoral offences, including vote-buying under Section 121 of the Electoral Act 2022, and stated that investigations are ongoing to identify all individuals connected to the recovered items and determine the source and intended use of the funds.

The police emphasized that no one is above the law, regardless of their status.
