Osun SSG Teslim Igbalaiye Released from Police Custody

Teslim Igbalaiye, the Secretary to the Osun State Government, was released by the Osun State Police Command after being detained during a raid on his residence in Osogbo on Wednesday. The raid resulted in the arrest of Igbalaiye and five others, including a suspect on the police watchlist, Oladele Abiodun.

The police recovered N4,810,500, two Permanent Voter Cards, a voter register, a Dynabook laptop, a photocopy machine, and a printer from Igbalaiye's residence. Abiodun Ojelabi, the spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, stated that the operation was based on intelligence regarding a criminal gang.

The recovered items raised concerns about potential electoral offences, including vote buying. Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson for the Imole Campaign Council, announced Igbalaiye's release on Facebook, expressing gratitude to the Inspector General of Police and the Commissioner of Police for their actions in response to public demand regarding the unlawful arrest.
