Tinubu Appoints Kunle Elebut as Financial Reporting Chair

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the appointment of Mr. Kunle Elebut as the chairperson of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.

This announcement was made on Thursday, reinforcing the government's commitment to strengthening corporate governance, enhancing investor confidence, and deepening transparency and accountability within Nigeria's financial reporting ecosystem. Mr.

Elebut is a chartered accountant with over 40 years of professional experience across Nigeria, West Africa, and the global market. He has previously served as a senior partner and chief executive officer at KPMG Nigeria, as well as chairman of KPMG West Africa and KPMG Africa.

Throughout his career, he has been involved with the global board of KPMG, including its global board audit committee. His appointment comes at a critical time as the council aims to advance key institutional priorities and engage with the UK to enhance trade and investment partnerships.
