JUST-IN: Professor Adamu Appointed New Acting VC Of Yakubu Gowon Varsity

Professor Mathew Adamu has been appointed as the new Acting Vice-Chancellor of Yakubu Gowon University in Abuja by the Federal Government. The announcement was made by the Acting Registrar, Roseline Adakayi, who stated that Professor Adamu will take over from Professor Patricia Manko Lar, who had been serving in an acting capacity since February 2025.

Professor Adamu's appointment is for a three-month period, effective from Monday, 11 August 2025. He succeeds Professor Lar, who is credited with providing purposeful leadership and fostering academic and administrative stability during her tenure.

Professor Adamu, a renowned veterinary scholar, has an impressive academic background and over 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and extension services. The University community expressed gratitude to Professor Lar and wished Professor Adamu a successful tenure in steering the University forward.
