Atiku's Camp Responds to Babachir Lawal's Allegations

Atiku Abubakar's media office issued a statement responding to former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, who had made allegations against the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate. The statement described Lawal's claims as completely false and motivated by personal hatred.

It asserted that Lawal had the right to leave the party but no right to spread lies about Atiku Abubakar. The media office dismissed Lawal's allegations of tribal and religious bigotry, insisting that Atiku remains committed to unifying Nigeria.

The statement further accused Lawal of projecting his own character onto Atiku and suggested that Lawal's actions were selfish and aimed at personal ambition rather than the interests of Nigerians. Additionally, the media office noted that Lawal failed to provide evidence for his claims of electoral fraud following the ADC primaries.

On the same day, Lawal appeared on Channels Television to explain his resignation from the ADC, referring to the primaries as a fake exercise.
