Tambuwal Resigns from PDP, Joins African Democratic Congress

Aminu Tambuwal, the former governor of Sokoto State and a notable political figure, has officially resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC). This announcement was made in a statement posted early Thursday.

Tambuwal cited leadership disagreements and deepening divisions within the PDP as the driving forces behind his decision to leave the party. He confirmed his resignation in a communication directed to the ward chairman and formally enlisted in the ADC, alongside his associates.

Tambuwal acknowledged the significant role the PDP played in shaping his political career, including his tenure as Speaker of the House of Representatives and his two terms as governor of Sokoto State. He declared that the deteriorating internal conditions of the PDP made it untenable for him to continue his membership.

Tambuwal expressed confidence that the ADC offers a stronger platform for democratic progress and reaffirmed his dedication to democracy, justice, and national unity.
