DSS and Forest Guards Rescue Nine Victims in Kwara

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), in collaboration with the Kwara State Forest Guards, local hunters, and vigilantes, successfully killed three suspected bandits and rescued nine abducted victims during an intelligence-led operation in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State. The operation took place in the Obbo Aiyegunle, Ejiu Ora, and Osi axis, a border area between Kwara and Ekiti states.

The victims included farmers abducted from their farmlands and others kidnapped from neighboring Ekiti State. The rescue was prompted by heavy gunfire from security operatives, forcing the kidnappers to flee.

Prince Dada Sunday, Chief Press Secretary to the chairman of Ekiti LGA, confirmed the operation, stating that the kidnappers, numbering over ten, had gathered victims from various locations. One victim sustained serious head injuries during the abduction.

Owolabi Adebayo, a member of the Kwara Forest Guards, noted the need for more operational equipment to effectively confront such threats.
