El-Rufai Arraigned for Corruption in Kaduna Court

On March 24, 2026, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai was arraigned by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) at the Federal High Court in Kaduna. The charges against him, filed under suit number FHC/KD/73/2026, include allegations of corruption, possession of public property, and money laundering.

El-Rufai was arraigned alongside Joel Adoga, with separate charges also filed against him under mark KDH/KD/ICPC/01/26 at the Kaduna State High Court. The ICPC's media head, John Odei, confirmed the arraignment, which was preceded by heightened security measures around the court premises, including the deployment of armed personnel from various agencies and restrictions on vehicular movement.

The security presence caused early morning traffic disruptions in the area.
