Tinubu Appoints Dr. Wasiu Olanrewaju-Smart as Adviser

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Dr. Wasiu Olanrewaju-Smart as the new Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives), effective immediately.

This appointment aims to enhance coordination between the Presidency and the House of Representatives. Dr.

Olanrewaju-Smart succeeds Hon. Ibrahim Olanrewaju, who left the position to pursue an elective office in his home state.

He has a PhD in Educational Management from Lead City University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University, along with being an Edward Mason Fellow in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. His career includes significant roles within the National Assembly, such as Research and Media Assistant to both the Minority and Majority Leaders during the 7th and 8th Assemblies, and Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

In October 2023, he joined the Presidency as Senior Special Assistant on Intergovernmental Affairs. President Tinubu expressed confidence in Olanrewaju-Smart's ability to strengthen relations between the Presidency and the House of Representatives.
