Tinubu Proposes Nigeria to Host 2030 Commonwealth Games, Historic Bid for African Unity

Former Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu, has announced Nigeria's bid to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, marking a historic opportunity for the country to host the event for the first time in Africa. Tinubu emphasized the significance of hosting the Centenary Games in 2030, highlighting the unity and inclusion it would symbolize for Nigeria and the Commonwealth.

He expressed confidence in Nigeria's capacity to host the Games and assured readiness to showcase Africa's diversity. Tinubu's pledge was reinforced during a meeting with the Commonwealth Sport Bid Evaluation Committee at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The bid aims to make history and strengthen Nigeria's position as a gateway to Africa within the Commonwealth family.
