US Embassy in Nigeria to Close for Eid-el-Fitr Holiday

The US Embassy in Nigeria has announced that it will close its offices in Abuja and Lagos for the Eid-el-Fitr holiday on March 19 and 20, 2026. This closure is in observance of the holiday that celebrates the end of Ramadan.

The announcement was made by the embassy's officials, emphasizing the significance of the celebration. Additionally, the Nigerian federal government, through the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, declared these dates as public holidays, which was communicated by the ministry's permanent secretary.

The embassy extended greetings for Eid-el-Fitr to friends and families in Nigeria and around the world, highlighting the cultural importance of the holiday.
