Wike-Led PDP Faction Elects New Leadership in Abuja

The faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) led by Nyesom Wike has elected Hon. Abdulrahman Moha as the new National Chairman and Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the National Secretary during a convention held in Abuja. This exercise, which took place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, resulted in the formation of a 19-member National Working Committee aimed at steering the affairs of the faction for the next four years.

Delegates from several states, including Kebbi, Ekiti, and Bauchi, participated in the convention, which was attended by approximately 2,500 delegates who endorsed the new leadership team. The election process was conducted to avoid internal contests and streamline the selection process, reflecting Wike's growing influence within the party's internal structure.

The newly constituted committee aligns with the provisions of the PDP constitution, amended in 2017, and includes key positions such as Aaron Chukwuemeka as Deputy National Chairman (South) and Yusufu Akirikwen as Deputy National Chairman (North).
