ALGON Commends Uba Sani for Pay Boost to Traditional Rulers

The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) Kaduna state chapter has praised Governor Uba Sani for his approval of enhanced remuneration for traditional rulers, which includes paramount rulers such as Emirs and Chiefs, as well as district and village heads. Sheikh Jamilu Abubakar Albani, the chairman of ALGON, stated that this decision is a significant boost to the traditional institution, emphasizing their vital role in promoting peace, security, and grassroots development.

The improved remuneration is expected to motivate traditional leaders, enhancing their capacity for intelligence gathering, conflict resolution, and community mobilization. ALGON noted that better welfare for traditional rulers would aid in addressing security challenges and fostering peace across the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State.

The association expressed gratitude to Governor Sani for reinforcing the importance of traditional institutions in the administration's peace-building and development agenda and pledged ongoing collaboration with the state government and stakeholders to promote good governance and sustainable development.
