Uba Sani Advocates for Basic Education Rights in Kaduna

Governor Uba Sani is committed to providing every child of school age in Kaduna State with access to basic education before the end of his administration. Malam Mubarak Mohammed, the Executive Chairman of Kaduna State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB), stated that education is a right in the state and emphasized that basic education is free, not a privilege.

He condemned the high number of out-of-school children in Northern Nigeria and praised the governor for successfully returning over 360,000 children to school, reducing the previous figure of over 500,000 out-of-school children. He urged parents and guardians to enroll their children, highlighting education as a means to elevate children from humble backgrounds.

SUBEB has constructed over 2,000 classrooms to accommodate new pupils. Additionally, a School Enrollment Campaign for the 2026/2027 academic year was launched, featuring a road walk to raise awareness about the importance of basic education, during which five children were enrolled in primary school.
