UBEC Advocates for Quality Education Access for All

The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), under the leadership of Executive Secretary Dr Aisha Garba, stated that no child should be denied access to quality education due to difficult circumstances. This declaration was made during the commissioning of the rehabilitated Alternative High School for Girls in Agboju, Lagos State.

Garba stressed the importance of providing alternative learning pathways, especially for girls and young women who have left school due to pregnancy, early marriage, or family responsibilities. She emphasized that the rehabilitation project is not merely infrastructural but a vital opportunity for these girls to return to education.

Garba asserted that every child deserves a chance to succeed, regardless of their circumstances. The Federal Government, through the Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative, is pursuing reforms to enhance education quality and access.

The Agboju intervention aligns with UBEC's commitment to inclusive education, focusing on vulnerable and out-of-school children.
