Uba Sani Appoints New Emir of Kagarko in Kaduna State

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has appointed Alhaji Suleiman Sa'ad Abubakar as the new Emir of Kagarko, effective immediately. This decision follows the death of the former monarch, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar, whose passing occurred on January 8, 2026, after six years on the throne.

The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Local Government, Alhaji Sadiq Mamman Lago. The selection process for the new emir was described as rigorous and conducted by the Kagarko Emir Council, which involved a thorough screening of candidates.

Governor Sani congratulated the new emir and urged him to promote peace and unity within the community. The statement also indicated that arrangements for a formal installation ceremony would be announced in due course.

The Kagarko emirate is located in southern Kaduna State and plays a significant role in grassroots administration, conflict resolution, and cultural preservation in the area.
