Ganduje Recognizes Sanusi as Emir of Kano After 2020 Fallout

Abdullahi Ganduje, the former governor of Kano, officially recognized Sanusi as the Emir of Kano during a ceremony at the Government House in Kano. This event is notable as it marks the first time Ganduje has publicly acknowledged Sanusi's position since he was deposed in 2020.

The recognition comes in the wake of political shifts, particularly after Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) a month ago. Sanusi was initially removed by Ganduje, who appointed Aminu Ado Bayero as the new Emir.

However, Ado Bayero has refused to relinquish his position. The situation took a new turn when Sanusi was allowed to hold a Sallah durbar, an event that had previously been marred by violence and police intervention during the ban on such gatherings.
