Kaduna Governor Uba Sani Frees 97 Inmates for Democracy Day

On June 12, 2026, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani announced the release of 97 inmates as part of the Democracy Day celebrations. This initiative is aimed at promoting justice and rehabilitation, providing the freed inmates with cash grants and opportunities to enroll in vocational training at state-owned institutions.

Governor Sani explained that the release was in accordance with his constitutional prerogative of mercy, following recommendations from the Kaduna State Advisory Council. He urged the freed inmates to take advantage of the opportunities provided to embrace lawful living.
