Kaduna Governor Fulfills 30-Year Promise to Olympians

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has fulfilled a 30-year promise to members of the Nigerian football team that won gold at the 1996 Olympic Games. Daniel Amokachi, a former Super Eagles player, commended Sani for allocating plots of land to him and fellow gold medallists Garba Lawal and Emmanuel Babayaro, as well as naming streets after some of the victorious squad members.

Amokachi noted that previous governments had failed to honor similar promises. He expressed gratitude for Sani's gesture, which he believes restores confidence in government.

During a visit to the ongoing reconstruction of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Lawal described the project as a significant development for Kaduna's football scene, stating it would meet international standards. Babayaro added that Sani has successfully united the football community in Kaduna.

Governor Sani acknowledged the contributions of football veterans and emphasized Kaduna's status as a leading football-producing state in Nigeria.
