Uba Sani Warns Journalists Against Politician Activists

On Thursday night, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani warned journalists against politicians who masquerade as activists, claiming that such behavior undermines Nigeria's democracy for political advantage. Speaking at a Ramadan breakfast at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House in Kaduna, Sani emphasized the importance of journalists in Nigeria's democratic struggle, recalling the sacrifices made during the fight for civil rights.

He urged the media to scrutinize politicians who present themselves as activists despite their past alliances with undemocratic regimes. Sani accused these politicians of fueling divisions in the country by focusing on ethnic and religious issues rather than addressing critical developmental challenges such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

He encouraged journalists to ask tough questions about the democratic credentials of political actors, emphasizing the need for fundamental human rights and the rule of law. Additionally, Sani highlighted the achievements of his administration over the past two and a half years, including the construction of roads and the renovation of secondary hospitals.
