Kaduna PDP demands release of by-election candidate, campaign DG from EFCC custody

The Kaduna chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for the release of their by-election candidate, Princess Esther Dawaki, and campaign director general, Shehu Fatangi, from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). PDP Kaduna Chairman, Edward Masha, expressed concern over the continued detention of Dawaki and Fatangi, alleging that their arrest is part of a broader scheme to suppress opposition voices.

Despite meeting bail conditions, Dawaki has been held by the EFCC for 12 days. Masha described the situation as troubling and called for the immediate release of the two individuals to ensure fair competition in democracy.

The party warned of potential peaceful demonstrations if their members are not released promptly and urged the EFCC chairman to intervene. PDP Kaduna vowed to resist intimidation and uphold democratic principles.
