By-Election: PDP Alleges Abduction Of Candidate, 25 Supporters By Security Operatives

The PDP has accused security operatives of abducting their candidate and 25 supporters during a by-election. State PDP Chairman Sir Edward Percy Masha made the allegations at a press conference, claiming that a joint security network carried out the operation.

The security personnel reportedly stormed a hotel in Malali to arrest the Chairman of the PDP Campaign Council, Hon Hussein Dawaki, and others. Masha called on President Bola Tinubu, the Police, DSS, Chief Army Staff, and Chief Defence Staff to intervene and stop the abuse.

He urged civil society organizations, democracy advocates, and citizens to resist attempts to intimidate voters and compromise the electoral process. The ruling APC was accused of resorting to intimidation out of fear of electoral defeat.

The PDP assured supporters that they would defend their rights and freedoms while keeping the public informed of developments.
