Kaduna Polytechnic Addresses Viral Dress Code Controversy

Kaduna Polytechnic issued a statement in response to a viral video that circulated on social media on Thursday, March 12, 2026. The video depicted an incident where several female students were allegedly prevented from attending lectures due to violations of the institution's dress code.

Godwin Ayegba, the Deputy Registrar for Information and Protocol, confirmed that an investigation has begun to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify any lapses in the enforcement of the dress code policy. The institution clarified that the dress code is intended to promote decency and professional conduct within the learning environment.

Ayegba stated that while the dress code committee is mandated to enforce the policy, it should not be done in an extreme or arbitrary manner. The management reassured that appropriate measures would be taken to resolve the matter swiftly and fairly, urging students to utilize official channels for complaints instead of social media.
