Shehu Sani Calls for Probe into El-Rufai's Tenure

Shehu Sani, a former senator representing Kaduna Central, has urged anti-graft agencies to investigate the eight-year administration of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai for alleged financial irregularities and abuse of office. During a press briefing in Kaduna, Sani described the mismanagement of public funds during El-Rufai's tenure from 2015 to 2023 as amounting to hundreds of billions of naira.

He specifically called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to act on reports indicting the Kaduna State House of Assembly and to ensure accountability. Sani highlighted the challenges faced during El-Rufai's administration, including hardship, insecurity, and alleged human rights violations.

He also raised concerns about the erosion of democratic values during this period, citing the arrest and detention of journalists, activists, and community leaders. Furthermore, Sani urged security agencies to intensify investigations into the disappearance of political activist Abubakar Idris, known as Dadiyata.

He criticized El-Rufai's recent comments about the current administration and reaffirmed his support for Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
