Stakeholders Demand Probe of El-Rufai Over N423bn Allegations

Stakeholders in Kaduna, represented by the Aegi Coalition, have demanded a thorough investigation into former governor Nasir el-Rufai concerning allegations of misappropriating N423 billion. During a press conference held in Kaduna on Sunday, Alhaji Aliyu Muhammad, the coalition's leader, highlighted the need for scrutiny following revelations about the management of state funds and loans during el-Rufai's administration.

The coalition described the allegations as serious and deserving of detailed examination by relevant authorities. They emphasized that the issues raised are strictly related to Kaduna state governance and should not be politicized.

Additionally, concerns were raised regarding unresolved financial transactions related to specific projects, including the light rail project, which require clarification. The coalition urged anti-graft agencies, including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), to conduct an independent and impartial investigation to ensure accountability and adherence to the rule of law.
