Kaduna State to Extend KASU Salary Deal to Other Institutions

The Kaduna State Government announced plans to extend the salary agreement established for the Kaduna State University (KASU) to other tertiary institutions in the state. Prof. Sani Sambo, the Kaduna State Commissioner of Education, made this announcement while representing Governor Uba Sani at the 2025 Barewa Old Boys Association’s Annual General Meeting in Zaria.

He stated that a nine-member negotiation committee has been formed to engage with unions from affected institutions to address their concerns and improve conditions of service. The implementation of the KASU agreement is expected to begin with the October salary.

Prof. Sambo emphasized the importance of the College of Education and other institutions in developing technical skills essential for economic growth. He also noted that the state government has allocated about 25 percent of its budget to education over the past three budget cycles and has made significant investments in vocational and technical education, including the establishment of an Institute of Vocational Skills Training.
