Kaduna State Launches Operation TSAFTA to Boost Sanitation and Create Jobs

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, alongside John Shiklam, unveiled Operation TSAFTA, a new environmental initiative aimed at bolstering public health and sanitation in Kaduna State. The program is expected to generate 5,000 jobs for youths and women.

The initiative includes the procurement of essential equipment such as dustbins, water tankers, and personal protective gear to enhance operational efficiency and ensure worker safety. The first phase of Operation TSAFTA will target four local government areas facing significant environmental challenges due to rapid urbanization and increased commercial activities.

Governor Sani emphasized the importance of clean and well-managed environments for human health and economic productivity. The initiative is part of broader efforts to promote environmental responsibility in daily life across urban and rural communities in Kaduna State, with collaboration between the Ministry of Local Government Affairs and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources.
