Kaduna Varsity Appeals to ASUU to Halt Warning Strike

The management of Kaduna State University has appealed to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) KASU chapter to suspend its two-week warning strike, initiated due to the non-implementation of agreements with the Federal Government and other welfare issues. This appeal was made on Friday, shortly after the strike began, and was signed by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abdullahi Musa.

The university management emphasized the importance of the ongoing dialogue facilitated by the state government, which has taken steps to address the lecturers' concerns. Governor Uba Sani, the Visitor to KASU, has formed a nine-member committee, chaired by Prof. Abubakar Sani Sambo, to engage with the lecturers' issues and provide recommendations within one month.

The university management expressed concern over the strike's impact on students and urged ASUU-KASU to reconsider the industrial action, highlighting the government's commitment to resolving the crisis through dialogue.
