KASU Management Appeals to ASUU-KASU to End Strike

The management of Kaduna State University (KASU), represented by Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa, has appealed to the Academic Staff Union of Universities, KASU (ASUU-KASU), to suspend its ongoing warning strike. This appeal was made in a statement on Friday, highlighting the intervention of Governor Uba Sani, who is also the Visitor to the university.

The governor has formed a nine-member committee, chaired by Commissioner for Education Professor Abubakar Sani Sambo, tasked with engaging the issues raised by academic staff and providing recommendations within one month. The university management acknowledged the concerns of academic staff and the anxiety of students and parents regarding academic disruptions.

They emphasized the importance of maintaining the academic calendar for students who have traveled from various locations to study at the institution. The management commended Governor Sani for his proactive steps and pledged to prioritize the welfare of staff and students while continuing dialogue with government and unions.
