Kaduna Women Trained in Climate-Smart Vegetable Farming

Fifty women from Tudun Biri community in Kaduna State were trained on climate-smart vegetable production by the Violence Lead Support Initiative (ASVIOL) with support from the French Embassy in Nigeria. The training focused on cultivating five vegetable crops using improved hybrid seeds and practical field sessions.

Participants received farming inputs and were educated on nursery establishment, transplanting, pest control, and post-harvest handling. The program aimed to enhance women's knowledge and skills in vegetable production.

The training manual produced in Hausa aimed to support women with low literacy levels. The initiative received community support, with the village head actively participating in the training sessions.
