Sasakawa Africa Promotes Climate-Smart Agriculture in Five Nigerian States

Sasakawa Africa, with support from Nippon Foundation, is conducting green mega mini field days in five Nigerian states (Benue, Gombe, Jigawa, Kano, Nasarawa) to promote climate-smart regenerative agricultural practices. The initiative aims to improve soil health, enhance productivity, and build farmer resilience to climate change through innovative practices like maize-soybean strip cropping, conservation agriculture, and biochar application.

The recent field events showcased these practices, emphasizing the importance of sustainable and climate-smart agriculture. Government officials, traditional leaders, and farmers have commended the interventions for transforming rural communities and promoting sustainable intensification practices.
