Zangon Kataf Youths Demand Reps Seat Rotation for 2027

Youth leaders from Zangon Kataf have called for the rotation of the House of Representatives seat between Zangon Kataf and Jaba constituencies in anticipation of the 2027 elections. During a press conference, Ezekiel Samaila, representing the Anghan Youth Development Association, urged political stakeholders to respect an existing rotational arrangement.

This agreement, which has been in place for two council positions, aims to ensure fair representation for the Bajju, Atyap, and Ikulu ethnic groups within the federal constituency. The youth highlighted that Zangon Kataf has a significantly larger voter base, with 180,998 registered voters compared to Jaba's 66,948.

They warned that any disregard for the rotational agreement could undermine political stability in the constituency. The youth leaders appealed to Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and party leaders to uphold this agreement, asserting that justice is essential for peace and that they will not tolerate violations of the gentleman's agreement guiding political relationships.
