Kalu Backs Tinubu's Re-election for Economic Reforms

Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, praised President Bola Tinubu for his courageous leadership during his three years in office, which began on May 29, 2023. Kalu urged Nigerians to support Tinubu's re-election bid for 2027, arguing that a second term would enable the president to consolidate ongoing reforms and complete significant infrastructure projects initiated by his administration.

Tinubu succeeded former President Muhammadu Buhari and has implemented several economic measures, including the removal of fuel subsidies and exchange rate unification, aimed at boosting government revenue and addressing structural distortions in the economy. Kalu acknowledged the challenges posed by these reforms, including rising living costs and inflation, but emphasized the need for continued focus on economic stabilization and growth.

He highlighted key projects such as the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway and the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano gas pipeline, asserting that the groundwork for economic recovery has been laid and that a second term would allow for the realization of these benefits.
