Kalu Signs Tinubu’s APC Nomination Form for 2027

On May 5, 2026, Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, signed the APC presidential nomination form for Bola Tinubu, who is seeking re-election in the 2027 general elections. Kalu described this endorsement as a "beautiful birthday gift," coinciding with his 55th birthday.

He signed the form alongside James Faleke, a member of the House of Representatives from Ikeja Federal Constituency, and Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior. Kalu expressed that endorsing Tinubu's nomination is a rare privilege and a symbol of his commitment to continue supporting Tinubu's administration beyond 2027.

David Umahi, another minister, also signed the nomination form, emphasizing that it is a significant step towards sustaining national development efforts. The process for collecting the nomination forms was formally initiated at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, with a value of N100 million.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the presidential and national assembly elections for January 16, 2027.
